Since its incorporation in 1962, Forst Contracting and Development Corp. has been dedicated to producing high-end custom new homes, additions, renovations, Medical Suits and light commercial projects in New Jersey. Our History, 1962 – Present
1962: Forst Incorporates
Incorporated in 1962 by Arthur Forst, Forst Contracting & Development Corporation is a family owned and operated company that enjoys a reputation for unparalleled quality and premium craftsmanship in completing award-winning projects time after time. They started out building superior homes for many of the local developers. Arthur always took great pride in building homes for families, and had built over a thousand homes in his career.
Forst Continues to Grow
In the mid 1970s, they began building custom homes and completing renovations and additions. In the 1980s Forst began doing a significant amount of commercial projects. Their portfolio now includes an endless list of new buildings, fit-outs, medical suites, professional offices, additions, renovations, and industrial projects as well.
Our Family Business Into the 2020s
Arthur was always focused on the details and made sure everything was done correctly. His motto was, “When you’re forming the footings, you need to be thinking about the last shingle to be put on the roof.” This desire to plan and think ahead has always allowed Forst to avoid obstacles that may not have been considered by others, and allow projects to move forward smoothly and according to schedule. In 1991 Arthur’s son, Robert Forst, took over and began to expand and grow the business with the same love for building and attention to details that his father cherished. Currently Forst employs 14 people, one of which is Robert Forst Jr, who has been with the company since 2010 working on estimating and project management. He is the third generation to have worked for Forst.

Robert Forst
President/Project Director
Bob is the President of Forst Contracting. He has over 40 years of experience in the industry. His attention to detail and desire for better projects is the foundation Forst has grown upon since he took over in 1991.
RJ Galasso
Senior Estimator/Controller
RJ has been with Forst since 1987. His ability to turn around accurate estimates time and time again is truly remarkable. He has a vast experience working as an adjuster on behalf of clients when it comes to insurance projects
Robert Forst
Estimator/Project Manager
Rob Has been with Forst since 2010. He has been an integral part of team. He manages many of the projects and provides accurate estimates while consistently meeting deadlines.
Tony Cardoso
Supervisor
Tony has been with Forst for over 15 years now. His ability to push projects along while providing the quality of work Forst is known for is truly unmatched. Tony previously managed facilities at a large hospital where he was responsible to keep the facility open during countless large construction projects. This great experience is crucial to the commercial projects we work on where continued operation is a must.
Alberto Chavez
Assistant Project Manager
Alberto has been working on extremely high end custom homes in the Jersey Shore area for over 8 years. His vast experience, attention to finish detail, and great organizational skills have made him an integral part of the Forst team.
Jose Vasquez
Foreman
Jose is extremely skilled. His countless years of working in the field makes him so important to our projects. His knowledge of so many facets of construction ensures Forst delivers the right job and scope each every time.
Lisa Forst
Accounting Administrator / Office Manager
Lisa has been with Forst since 2015. She is in charge of the entire receivable and payable department. Previously working for a medical company with the same title, she has been an integral part of the organization at Forst.
Carlos Martinez
Carpenter
Carlos has been working with Forst over 10 years and his craftsmanship, care, and knowledge are integral to the jobsite success at Forst.
Armando Hernandez
Carpenter
Armando has been with Forst since 2002 and is an great asset. His incredible skill is what helps projects keep moving. When things need to get adjusted or patched along the way, he is able to help complete these tasks to prevent projects from getting stuck.
Raul Quispe
Laborer
Raul has been with Forst since 2000, and is a crucial part of the team. He helps ensure that all projects are kept well, cleaned up, and no one can dig a trench better than Raul.
Kathy Hoffman
LEED and Green Building Specialist
Kathy has worked with Forst since 1996. She is LEED certified, and aids us in all LEED and Green Building applications.
